Because what really stands out is how red the nation seems to be when you do not take the voting population into account; when you do so many of those vast red mid-west blocks fade into pale pink and lavender (very low population).<\/p>\n<p>So I created a new map using Mark\u2019s blended voting map based on the actual numbers of votes for each party overlaid with population maps from Texas Tech University and other sources.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the result\u2014what the American political voting distribution really looks like.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now THIS is the most accurate map that I\u2019ve seen, and it is fascinating.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is a really great way to put things into perspective (also I like how dark blueish-purple my county is this year).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is pure fucking genius.
