So bags open, pick a likely spot, and jump.<\/p>\n<p>There are several flaws in this plan.<\/p>\n<p>The first is that I have a Traveller&#8217;s Backpack in my bags, which I momentarily thought was the parachute. It wasn&#8217;t.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The second was that, after I sorted out what I was supposed to be clicking, I did the wrong click. Right click, left click, I dunno, just click on the thing. I blame Diablo 3 for this.<\/p>\n<p>The third was that, having clicked to pick up the parachute instead of activating it, I then moved the mouse away from the bag, so now the UI was asking me to delete the S.A.F.E. Parachute. At this point I&#8217;m in a panic, because seriously OMG I am not going to delete the parachute you daft machine!<\/p>\n<p>So I manage to get the parachute open&#8230;. right after I hit the ground. Like, I saw the &lt;Safe Fall&gt; appear in my combat text and the &lt;Safe Fall fades&gt; immediately after it. This is what we call a pyrrhic victory.<\/p>\n<p>Right. 450 health, down from 1800. Fell straight into a pack of mobs. Frost Nova, Blink, health pot &#8230; crap, into more mobs. Okay, it&#8217;s okay, I&#8217;m on a frost mage, I have tools to handle this, I can kite these &#8230; half dozen angry mobs. No sweat. This is a level 10 twink mage, she&#8217;s got gear and skills and &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>wait, why isn&#8217;t bandaging working? I didn&#8217;t train First Aid?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Okay. There&#8217;s Narci, I&#8217;ll start moving over towards her bear, bears are my friend, get over to the tank. I&#8217;ll just &#8230; shit, my AGM is on CD. 2 minutes left.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Okay. Survive for two minutes. All I have to do is survive for &#8230; wait, there are a lot of mobs around Narci and Rades. Is that Snack coming down? Where is Cat? I don&#8217;t see &#8230; there&#8217;s another pack heading towards them. Okay, Blink!<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; into the mobs that had just aggroed on the rest of the party.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Narci is about dead. I&#8217;m somehow hanging on with about 300 health, but I see Cat is on her way? Maybe someone can toss me a heal as I bring a half-dozen mobs to join the party.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Narci goes down. I do the only thing I can think of &#8211; Arcane Explosion in the middle of the mobs to draw their attention. It works! But I think Rades was already dead. Whoops.<\/p>\n<p>Great. Now I have a dozen mobs and 1 minute left on my AGM cool down. Health pots are on CD too. Kite! Kite! Blink!<\/p>\n<p>&#8230; into a pack of mobs coming up the ramp. I go down by the pillar, leaving Snack and Cat to deal with the dozen or so angry mobs now chasing them. Snack valiantly tries to kite them around a square pillar, but &#8230; he&#8217;s not on his 85, with slows and fears, he&#8217;s on a level 28. And Cat doesn&#8217;t know that he&#8217;s running, so she&#8217;s trying to hit him with heals. But he starts one way, she goes the SAME way, so they&#8217;re chasing EACH OTHER around the pillar.<\/p>\n<p>Finally Cat stops and Snack comes hell-bent around the square pillar &#8211; someone kept yelling, THIS IS SQUARE, NOT ROUND \u00a0during all of this &#8211; and the mobs finally eat through his priest&#8217;s shields and he goes down. Last goes Cat&#8217;s paladin, who is still standing there considering the pillar, suddenly has half the mobs in the room swarming her.<\/p>\n<p>At this point I think we&#8217;re all laughing too hard to focus. IRL laughing, because as Snack pointed out &#8211; we might write about this game at a very advanced level and play at that level, but we can still wipe in Gnomer &#8211; spectacularly, naturally &#8211; with the best of them.<\/p>\n<p>I had a great time on my Mage last night.
