{"id":6042,"date":"2012-05-01T04:02:04","date_gmt":"2012-05-01T04:02:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tumblwise.cynwise.com\/?p=6042"},"modified":"2014-08-05T16:26:24","modified_gmt":"2014-08-05T16:26:24","slug":"loosewiring-woah-its-realtalk-time-i-just","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tumblwise.cynwise.com\/?p=6042","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<div id='gallery-1' class='gallery galleryid-6042 gallery-columns-3 gallery-size-thumbnail'><figure class='gallery-item'>\n\t\t\t<div class='gallery-icon landscape'>\n\t\t\t\t<a href='http:\/\/tumblwise.cynwise.com\/?attachment_id=6043#main'><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/tumblwise.cynwise.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/tumblr_m3bphxTkdq1rok3xdo1_400-150x150.jpg\" class=\"attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p><a class=\"tumblr_blog\" href=\"http:\/\/loosewiring.tumblr.com\/post\/22170348150\/woah-its-realtalk-time-i-just-decided-now-so\">loosewiring<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>WOAH IT\u2019S REALTALK TIME I JUST DECIDED NOW.<\/p>\n<p>So they say you need to be open about things to fight stigma. \u00a0So, here goes.<\/p>\n<p>Most of you guys call me Dee. \u00a0We raid together, or we chat, and I like to think that some of you like me. \u00a0Well, it\u2019s not all that hard to figure out, but I\u2019m severely mentally ill. \u00a0I thought that this would be appropriate, as tomorrow is May 1, and May is Mental Health Month.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to talk about sometimes, even right now. \u00a0Words are never too easy, so I\u2019ll try to keep it simple. \u00a0I have\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.webmd.com\/schizophrenia\/guide\/mental-health-schizoaffective-disorder\">schizoaffective disorder<\/a>. \u00a0Most people probably don\u2019t know what it is- it\u2019s a schizophrenia-spectrum disorder with a mood disorder. \u00a0In my case, it\u2019s like having bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. \u00a0That means that my mood goes way up and way down, and I also have paranoid delusions and hallucinations. \u00a0I\u2019ve had these symptoms for a long time, but they really got bad when I was 21. \u00a0I\u2019ve been hospitalized three times so far, and I\u2019ve been in constant medical care for the past four years. \u00a0At one point, I was on eight medications, including three antipsychotics. \u00a0Fortunately, I am now only on three medications.<\/p>\n<p>Psychosis is rarely as fun as some people think- it is, without a doubt, the worst part of what I experience. \u00a0I\u2019ve believed some pretty crazy things, and I\u2019ve seen some terrifying hallucinations. \u00a0I\u2019ve had my own malfunctioning brain telling me how worthless I was, voices coming constantly for years. \u00a0It doesn\u2019t make me fun to be around.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s tough, it really is. \u00a0But if we\u2019re going to change the way people see these things, it can only help to be honest. \u00a0And so, here I am. \u00a0I\u2019m not hiding anymore. \u00a0I\u2019m just me.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>loosewiring: WOAH IT\u2019S REALTALK TIME I JUST DECIDED NOW.
