I haven’t been able to get Wildstar to run much past the character creator in WINE on my Mac, so, until I Boot Camp or get a gaming PC, I won’t be playing. I rolled on Evindra, like most of my acquaintances, but the lady in dirty trousers and a trucker’s cap didn’t really seem like Cynwise. She was fine as a name placeholder, sure, but Exile seemed like more of a social choice rather than a good fit.
Then narciii suggested that Cynwise would be a better fit on the Dominion.
Oh. Oh my, that’s an interesting, delicious thought.
Instead of having her ruthlessly ambitious personality tempered by a generally good, altruistic society, what would she be like as the product of a militaristic empire with a superiority complex? One where the first quest is to torture people and if they show even a hint of disloyalty they get turned into people parts?
What kind of hero would she be when her attitude of “the ends justify the means” was not only accepted, but rewarded?
A villain, of course. Oh, she might be a hero for the Dominion, but she wouldn’t be an anti-hero at all.
So the above is really a mug shot, not a portrait. Evindra might not be a PvP server, but someday, when I get Wildstar to run and pick up the bug, she’ll be there waiting. Watching.
