I’d just like to state, for the record, that tonight I managed to work a parachute correctly in Gnomer.

I stood at the top of the platform. I waited for Narci to jump down, yelling RAWR IMMA BEAR. I noted the direction she went, and Maeli went, and Rades went, and followed. I ran and jumped and was quite proud of not only my successful ability to deploy a gnomish device, but my altitude was good. Very good! No crash landings for me!

I was soaring, a mage without Slow Fall but who could use a parachute, right through the open door below the mechanical bay. Right over my tank, and the other DPS, and the healer.

Right through the door.

Right into a pack of mobs.

There were only two of them, but it never once occurred to me that perhaps, just maybe, I should have clicked off my parachute to avoid hitting them. Instead I’m considering “how will I survive this one?” and “two elite mobs? NO PROBLEM.”

This is why I am a bad raider.

I think Winnie is going to develop a fear of heights at this rate. Or at least a fear of parachutes.

(I also managed to sheep myself tonight. Gnomer is an AWESOME instance.)
